2 Day Workshop - Thursday 9th & Friday 10th July

In this project you will create a large transformable scarf/shawl OR seamless vest (depending on student's choice or skill level), in a “patchwork” style.  Students will begin by creating a pattern for the garment, based on individual measurements. Next, you will work on the idea for the details in the design and colors, and will create sketches thereof. The final stage will be the nuno-felting of the garments, the use of decorative techniques, stitching, and creation of beautiful color combinations. Students will be combining a great variety of nuno-felt compatible fabrics, as well as varying decorative techniques to create the “patches”. This will yield a fun, lightweight, but wonderfully textured garment. Some decorative machine stitching is recommended for this project. During this workshop you will learn the techniques   created by the use of sanders.

•  Rich olives, greens, browns and other natural colors with some bright accenting additions;
•  Light and pearly beiges, grays, cream, lilac, and many other soft and smoky shades.
