Gail Rogers has been inspired to create a number of gorgeous blankets featuring padded bears which grandmothers will find irresistible. There are blankets with gingerbread men and a family of geese as well as one depicting the nursery rhyme Little Boy Blue. Each blanket, with its own theme, lends itself to storytelling with small children.

Beautiful Australian wildflowers are displayed on two other blankets, one cream and the other dark green, suitable for older recipients of your labours of love. The sampler presentation makes these designs very versatile.

Exotic wool embroidery is used to embellish a dressing gown and a vest, each made more gorgeous with the addition of beads and metallic threads.

Traditional crewel embroidery decorates a footstool and a bellpull, but again the designs are easily adaptable to other items. In fact, alternative interpretations or extensions of the theme are suggested at the beginning of each project.
