Embroidery Scissors Nogent model - Découvit range

These embroidery scissors are made in France. They are forged, dipped, polished, chromed and hand-mounted. They are a reedition of a classic model in French scissor-making.
They bear the name of a village in Haute-Marne (north east France), a region once devoted to the production of scissors. They are sold under the Découvit brand, which has become a generic name for stitch rippers in France which they have been making since 1930.
Length of scissors: 9 cm.  Size of card: 18 cm x 11 cm.
They are presented shrink-wrapped on a pretty Art Deco style card.
Découvit is a registered trademark which made its’ reputation with the famous little tools for quick unstitching. It was a huge success in the 1950’s, notably with one of the publicity cars in the Tour de France, which had a huge Découvit on the roof.
