Di will teach you how to make ribbon roses & lilacs on hand-felted backgrounds - combining African mohair, silk, cotton & wool

Create gorgeous three-dimensional roses on a rich and texturized hand-felted background. The background is handmade from African wool and mohair and rich silk fibres have been added for lustrous effects. Learn all the secrets of how to make a successful masterpiece using silk ribbon embroidery and stumpwork techniques. A piece which is sure to become a treasured family heirloom! Turn it into a cushion or a bag or frame it to use as an interesting piece of art on your wall.

During this 2-day workshop you will learn how to create life-like roses and buds, beautiful leaves and sepals and a host of other tips and tricks. Di will also teach you how to make beautiful Lilacs — one of her favourite flowers.

The sizeable kit for this workshop includes the pattern plus the hand-made (each piece is unique) felted background: approximately 40 x 30 cm (16 x 12 inches.) Also included is the backing fabric and silk paper, the threads and woolly fibres, all the silk ribbons, the needles and step-by-step instructions on a CD plus a colour picture to use as a guide in the workshop.

• Green hand-felted background with pale yellow, sage green, antique-fuchsia and pearl-grey details
• Cream hand-felted background with gorgeous shades of carnation and light orchid pink, French lilac and cucumber green.
