Moroccan Wrap – making your own beautiful patterned wool fabric.

Join Wendy making this lovely large wrap using a traditionally inspired Turkish felting technique  using muslin fabric and wool. Creating a large light weight felted wrap which can also be used as a table runner or wall hanging or just make a piece of fabric to incorporate into a garment. You will use traditionally inspired pattern and colours and you will have plenty of colour options. You will learn how to get fine detailed patterns. The wrap will have a black base with your choice of surface fibre decoration and design. You will learn to felt onto a base of wool to create fantastic lightweight felts that are unique and very beautiful .This is a very gentle , quick  felting process. It is also a class in creation. Your design- your own creation. We will make one large wrap. Day one will be spent laying out the wrap and beginning the design process, day two will be assembling decorative elements and then wet felting. This is a truly beautiful technique.

Skill level: All welcome

Kit cost: $126.00

The kit includes: 18 micron black wool tops as base. Decorative wool fibres in a variety of Moroccan inspired colours , very fine muslin fabric and use of Wendy’s felting equipment including rolling mats ,soap ,netting and water containers
