Japanese Flowers in Applique

Eileen Campbell was invited to submit a quilt for an exhibition entitled Japanese Imagery in Contemporary Quilts by the director of Kokusai Art and Nihon Vogue of Tokyo.

She travelled extensively throughout Japan at various times, Summer, Autumn and Spring, viewing the beautiful flower displays in many temples and public gardens. These flowers became Eileen's inspiration for the quilt she would submit.

Throughout the book you will explore the techniques Eileen has used to create this beautiful quilt. Simple and compehensive instructions have been included for the applique of the Iris, Camellia, Hydrangea,Blossom, Waterlilies, Chrysanthemum, Wisteria, Roses and Peony.
