Nigel the Flamingo
The name of this bird is derived from the Spanish word ‘flamengo’, or flame-coloured. There are six flamingo species which, between them are native to most of the continents, barring the antipodes. Their distinctive colouring comes from the carotenoids in their diet of crustaceans and algae. This project measures approximately 305 x 275 mm (12½ x 11 inches).
