The silk shibori pleated ribbon is made using 4" (10.16cm) bias silk ribbon and has been shibori dyed and pleated. Pleating brings the ribbon to approx. 1" (2.54cm) wide adding an additional dimension to your work. The ribbon is cut across the bias and may have seams in.
The  colour and texture is steam set rendering the color washfast and lightfast and the pleating semi-permanent. You may wish to alter the texture with a light shot of steam from your iron or remove it completely by ironing flat on a silk steam setting to reveal the lovely shibori dye pattern.
Use this beautiful silk ribbon to create beautiful silk flowers,  raised beaded embroidery, embellish your favourite project, or work into a surface design or book binding project.
